Who I Am

Just another song to add to the dusty archives. Basically, I love to write and record. I'll be doing it in the ground after I'm buried. Sorry I haven't been a regular here. I have a lot going on in my life, but I always think of this site when I record something and like to share it. Hope all's well with everybody. Keep rockin' !!

3am

Well, this is a cover! (The original is by Matchbox 20)

It started out as a backing track that I was doing for myself... then progressed onto a backing track for my band (which is now a 3 piece), and then finally I thought I may as well complete it by adding my vocals and guitar!

At the moment, I'm spending so much of my time working on the band material that I rarely have time to complete any of my own stuff... hence posting this - thought you could have a sample of what I've been up to.

Comments would be great.
Vote if you feel it deserves it.

ANYDAY

This is a song I made some time ago. Did not know really what do with it and I sent my track to JBP. So he completed the tune with a melody, lyrics, guitars and vocals.

So it has become another wonderful song (I think) in this colaboration between JBP and me.

The first title was "the trash song". But anyhow this is what we are coming up with. And if you like it.....

....... please please rate it

The Silent Flight...

... of the Whale. It's not so good since it's made with some samples, and what I did it's not so original.
Anyway I like it, I hope you like it too.
But take this as a noodle, it's not a serious song, maybe it isn't a song...
Thanks for your comments.

The End of Tribulation[2]

Et voila, mes amis. I can't say that this is "professional," but it's a heck of a lot closer than the last rough draft that I posted.

The volume is a bit higher on this one, so you won't have to crank the knobs way up just to hear past that dreadful hiss that was in the last recording. I balanced this one better so that the hiss would leave me alone, but I'm afraid it showed up again a little with the highs on the EQ being pushed up.

I regulated the tempo on this recording as well. In the first draft, I just played the song as I felt comfortable, but this time I really tried hard to stick to the tempo, except for the 2/3's section where it gets really quiet-- that part is intentionally off tempo and slower than the rest of the song. As a result of a steady tempo, the track time increased by a minute, making it now 8:00

The song is completely playable by a single human being at the keys of a piano, though I recorded this in what seemed to be hundreds of parts in order to better capture the 3d feel of a piano when I play it. At 6:16 there's a rather sharp contrast of panning effect, due to the fact that the section just prior to it should have been recorded in better 3d sound. Since it wasn't, then consequently, the transition back into a truer 3d sound is rather blunt.

Meh... The bass is a quite murky... I tried to bring it out with some EQ work, but my computer's got _very_ little ram for this whole music editing thing. The project file was 2.5gb, and I couldn't live-preview any of the effects that I was using to polish the sound. In fact, the project in RAM was larger than the RAM I even have on the computer, and my C drive was too low on disk space to properly expand the virtual memory's page file, so in the end, I've had my iPod plugged into the machine as a secondary drive for a scratch disk. It's been intense these last few hours.

Um... aside from that, I'd like to know what you think about the track now. I heard what some of you suggested, about maybe adding a guitar to it, and I am in fact working on something, but I don't know if it'll ever end up as a full-blown project. I dunno. Maybe. I'd like to, but I've just got so much to do. I wasted the entire day today getting this recorded. Recording this at so many angles took freaking forever. I've eaten only a 3 Musketerrs bar and 4 of those amazing LifeSavers Wint-O-Green mints. Man.. I'm hungry. Later guys.

Joint production of TritonKeyboarder and me! Produced in Germany in the beautiful Harz mountains, this is a song that we quickly put together and features some of the lovliest vintage equipment: there's an actual Rhodes in there, aswell as the portable Yamaha QY-10 which I brought along, and we used an Atari ST for midi sequencing.

We hope you enjoy!

Evergreen

Finally! It works! this is quite seriously my 6th attempt at getting this song to load and play. Well done Chester. Well done.

Yes, so this is an old song... but has always held sentimental value with me :)

Check out my other stuff, I load another 2 songs today. A piano one, and then half a song... because i lost the other half... long story.

Seems a lot of people are adding lyrics. So I thought I'd put mine on a couple of songs :)

VERSE 1

So you’ve run away again?
And left nothing in your place.
Except a shadow and a sin,
Etched forever in your space.

PRECHORUS:

Than she turns to you and smiles,
At where you’ve been.
And says life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.

VERSE 2

Well time is coming round the bend,
It seems you try too hard to smile.
And it’s only near the end,
That you find your inner child.

PRECHORUS:
It’s always,
Inbetween.
That you find life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year. X2

OUTRO:

You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.
Your year.
